We are looking for a Fostering Advisor Based at the offices of Jay Fostering in Whetstone, Leicester covering enquiries from across the UK.

Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, mainly 9am-5pm. One working day will be a split shift starting in the office from 12pm – 5pm and then working from home from 6pm-8.30pm. This day will be either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday to be agreed at a later stage.
Salary £20,000 per annum
We are looking for a confident and customer service focussed individual to join our team of Fostering Advisors based in Whetstone, Leicester.
The main purpose of the role is to inform, by telephone, interested members of the public about the fostering task and the types of fostering available to help build our family of foster carers across the UK.
- responding to enquiries from members of the public, in a timely manner, by telephone, email and written communication to promote and inform about the fostering task.
- gathering information on an enquirers suitability to foster in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
- recording any information gathering and inputting details onto the relevant enquirer database.
- supporting the needs of up to 30 field-based Carer Engagement Officers, as and when needed, contacting enquirers on their behalf, completing reports and monitoring activity.
We are looking for someone with a passion for helping the lives of children and young people who find themselves within the care system but knowledge of foster care is not essential. We are interested in applications from candidates with customer service experience, able to demonstrate rapport building skills.
The role requires regular use of an online database and excel based reporting so excellent IT and web-based management skills would be a distinct advantage. A previous background in customer service or recruitment would also be advantageous.
The role will require accurate recording of telephone conversations so a high level of written communication skills, including punctuation, syntax and grammar are required.
This role requires someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, who can build rapport quickly and easily over the phone, you would need strong attention to detail and IT skills. You will need to be able use your initiative and be able to make solid and factually based decisions and be able to evidence why you made these decisions.
